Students enrolled at Valkyrie State School come from local cattle properties. With this background, it makes the school friendly and welcoming.
Our school provides a multi-grade, co-educational program from Kindergarten to Year 6 for students in this cattle and farming area. More than ten families attend Valkyrie State School.
Visitors regularly comment on the well-kept grounds and great facilities. Once they spend some time in the school they are also impressed with the behaviour of the students and the number of staff here to support pupils in our multi-age classroom.
Our school improvement goals encompass curriculum, teaching and learning practices and developing ways of working to ensure every child succeeds. Ongoing improvement is achieved through our belief that we are all life-long learners including students, staff and all members of our school community.

Our community
Our school is the hub of the local community.
Regional council meetings, Isolated Childrens Parents Association (ICPA) meetings and RAFS playgroups as well as Valkyrie Tea and Tots Playgroup are held at the school along with social gatherings organised by the Valkyrie P&C Association.
Valkyrie State School has an active P&C who successfully supports our school community to ensure all students have access to exceptional learning opportunities and a modern learning environment. This is evident with our new library resources and sports shed in 2020 and water infrastructure in 2021.
